Duties &amp; Responsibilities 
*   Provide frontline, system-level technical support to customers in during all phases of customer's product development and manufacturing.

*   Travel to the customer site as needed to provide technical support, demonstration, training, system installation and troubleshooting services, and liaison with AE resources to resolve issues.

*   Analyze customer's technical requirements and monitor industry trends
*   Be alert to competitive products and product positionings
*   Develop strong customer relations at a technical level, to gain further insight to direction and needs of the customer.

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills &amp; Education Required *   BSEE required, MSEE preferred
*   3-5 years test and measurement experience in the wireless telecom industry
*   Applicants should have prior FAE/AE experience and/or enjoy working with people in a technical support role.
*   Experience developing and using automated RF/Wireless test systems
*   Experience working with automated test programs and scripts in C, C++, VB, Python and Perl. 
*   Knowledge of the RF PHY requirements for the wireless communications standards such as…:
" 802.11abgn WLAN
" 802.15 Bluetooth 2.x, 3.x
*   Familiar with RF/system level test equipment such VSAs, VSGs, SAs, SGs, O-scopes, Power Meters, Vector and Scalar NA, Wireless Communication testers, etc.
*   Good troubleshooting, analysis, and problem solving skills
*   Effective presentation, written, and verbal skills

Field Applications Engineers in Global Services will have the opportunity to experience a range of activities, which vary week to week and sometimes day to day. These include:

* Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge Digital and analog devices

* Design sophisticated analog and digital test interfaces to implement switching, filtering, signal conversion, and other functions

* Write and debug test programs in C/Visual Basic to solve customer's test problem for mixed-signal, logic, and memory applications

* Create demonstration development programs and presentations.

* Identify trends in customer IC development to help guide the development of new Teradyne ATE instrumentation

* Reproduce customer problems for software/hardware engineering to correct, and provide interim solutions to keep our customers' production flowing

* Develop competitive benchmarks to differentiate us from the competition

* Travel to customer sites to support Design Engineers, Test Engineers, Product Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers. Travel requirements may be 25% or greater.

* Work with Sales and Marketing to develop sales and support strategies

* Attend trade shows as a technical representative.

* Write and present technical papers at our professional conference, the Teradyne Users Group

* Teach technical classes and seminars to customers and Teradyne engineers

* Project management to maintain and oversee the delivery of critical project milestones
